See Chevy’s Reaction to Facebook’s New Reaction Buttons
Chevy must really “Like” Facebook’s recently launched Reaction buttons because they included these five new animated emojis in their new commercial for the 2016 Malibu created by Commonwealth/McCann. These Reaction buttons give social media users a convenient way to express more of a reaction than just a “Like” without the need to compose long comments. Adweek.com shared more on Chevy’s clever social reaction.
The five new Reaction emojis visually express the feelings of “Love,” “Wow,” “Haha,” “Angry,” and “Sad.” The emojis appear beneath a Facebook post, displaying only the two most frequently chosen emojis by a user’s friends, with the other options appearing once a post has been clicked.
Chevy clearly seized a timely moment in social media pop culture by featuring Facebook’s new Reaction buttons in its new Malibu commercial. By creatively leveraging the concept behind the new Reaction emojis, Chevy drove home the idea that the mid-sized car segment has always offered many cars to “Like,” but the 2016 Malibu is a car that people can “Love.”
