NMFI Names Coverall Among its 2010 List of “50 Top Franchises for Minorities”
MDG’s client, Coverall Health-Based Cleaning System®, a leading franchisor of commercial cleaning businesses, announced on November 16 that it was selected as one of the “50 Top Franchises for Minorities” by the National Minority Franchising Initiative (NMFI). This year’s selection marks the fourth year in a row that Coverall has been honored with the distinction. Of this year’s 50 honorees, Coverall was listed with the highest minority participation, at 91 percent. The list of top franchises appeared in the “Franchising Today” section of USA Today.
The NMFI selected 50 franchisors from hundreds of companies with 50 or more operating units. There was no cost to participate in the survey. Each participating franchisor was required to submit its most recent Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and the marketing package that is sent to prospective franchisees, together with a completed questionnaire that noted the number of operating units owned by minorities, as well as the number of minorities in senior management.
“We are extremely pleased to be named once again as one of the Top Franchises for Minorities by the NMFI,” said Ted Elliott, president and CEO of Coverall Health-Based Cleaning System. “We value the entrepreneurial skills that our minority franchise owners contribute to our system, as well as their dedication to independent business ownership. For Coverall, it has been very gratifying to see minority representation in the franchising industry increase so markedly over the last few years. Everyone at Coverall remains committed to providing the industry-leading innovation and comprehensive support necessary to help franchise owners, from all walks of life, become successful entrepreneurs.”
According to Michael Del Gigante, president and executive creative director of MDG, “Coverall understands the value of diversity and goes to great lengths to recruit and support their minority entrepreneurs. The company also realizes that minorities are the ideal franchisors to establish their businesses in ethnic neighborhoods because they possess a familiar understanding of these communities.”
