The Musuem of London has created an app called Streetmuseum that offers a glimpse of the city long ago. Petapixel.com described this new, free app that provides a historical view of numerous sections of London.

With this app, users can virtually travel to noteworthy places around the city via the map or GPS. Upon arrival, one touch on the “3D View” button enables the app to identify the location and superimpose a historical photograph from that exact site over the current live video feed. Instantly, the viewer gets a look at the past and gains a whole new appreciation for how history has endured.
