Kate Spade Outfits New York City Stores for Interactive Shopping
Kate Spade has added high tech to high style with the debut of four shoppable interactive windows that let New York City fashionistas shop right on the street via large touchscreen displays and receive their purchases within one hour, for free. Located in formerly vacant retail spaces, the innovative interactive windows were created for the debut of Kate Spade’s new collection of casual clothing and accessories called Kate Spade Saturday. PSFK.com offered details about the brand’s fashionable foray into interactive shopping.
To catch the attention of prospective shoppers, the windows are painted in the brand’s signature bold, bright colors and display items from the new line. An adjacent touchscreen allows shoppers to instantly browse through the items, view the form and fit of apparel on models, and then make their selections with a tap on the screen. The checkout process only involves entering a mobile phone number, which prompts a confirmation text for final approval.
Upon approval, the purchases will be delivered anywhere in New York City by messenger, free of charge. Only then will the shopper pay for their order.
The four interactive windows are located throughout lower Manhattan and are open 24 hours a day through July 7. For a look at this “new look” in shopping, click here.
