Forecasting The Next Decade Of Digital Marketing
Nearly three-quarters of businesses plan upcoming investments in website redesigns or significant site enhancements to improve ROI, according to the study, “Digital Marketing in the Next Decade,” conducted by Adobe Systems. MediaPost.com reported on these findings, which show that marketing momentum is taking a digital direction.
The study revealed that the most-deployed tactic to date was analytics tools for measuring and optimizing website experiences, which was reported by 55% of respondents, with 82% of them planning to make these improvements this year.
Mobile also has made a strong marketing impression, with iPhone apps sharing the top spot with interactive catalogs as the most-planned execution. Closely behind are iPad apps, advertising on social networking sites, and branded social community pages.
Rich media and merchandising tactics were named as the most effective by the highest number of respondents. The features rated “very effective” include multimedia product viewing, followed by videos for merchandising and advertising, and product information on mobile devices.
According to the study, the majority of top, planned deployments were biased toward rich media. This is a strong indicator that digital will be become a dominant medium over the next decade.
